CGPA Calculator for Pakistani Universities

In Pakistani universities, academic performance is typically measured on a 4.0 grading scale. Your CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is a critical indicator of your overall academic success throughout your degree.

Standard Grade Point Scale

While grading policies can vary slightly between institutions, the following scale is widely adopted across top Pakistani universities:

GradeMarks PercentageGrade Points A90–100%4.0 A-85–89%3.7 B+80–84%3.3 B75–79%3.0 B-70–74%2.7 C+65–69%2.3 C60–64%2.0 D50–59%1.0 FBelow 50%0.0

How to Calculate Your CGPA

To calculate your CGPA, you must weigh your grade points by the credit hours (CH) of each course:

CGPA = Total (Grade Points × Credit Hours) / Total Credit Hours

Calculation Example:

  • Mathematics (3 CH): Grade A (4.0) → 4.0 × 3 = 12.0
  • Physics (3 CH): Grade B+ (3.3) → 3.3 × 3 = 9.9
  • English (2 CH): Grade A- (3.7) → 3.7 × 2 = 7.4
  • Totals: Total CH = 8 | Total Points = 29.3
  • CGPA: 29.3 / 8 = 3.66
